Scientific Community
The European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) SCT conferences are held annually by one of the member societies. STC meetings profit from the European network that has been spanned by EFMI. This year, the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS) e. V. is contracted as local organizer. Their ~ 2,000 members are forming a recognized community in Germany. GMDS has placed the Peter L. Reichertz Institute for Medical Informatics of TU Braunschweig and Hannover Medical School (PLRI) in charge as the responsible entity organizing STC 2019. PLRI operates a campus in Braunschweig and one in Hannover, and the latter was selected as STC venue. Additionally, there will be a joint Task Force meeting of European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM) and EFMI.
